The program is open to all Biogen Idec employees. Temporary employees, interns, contractors and consultants are not eligible for the employee referral bonus. In addition, the following types of employees are not eligible: Recruiter, VP level and above, lead HR Business Partners in affiliate locations, Managing Director. Also, Hiring Managers are not eligible to receive a referral bonus for referring individuals to open positions in their department.

To view our current openings or submit a resume, click on the link above. There is no limit on the number of referrals you can submit, or on the number of employee referral payouts you can receive. You can submit your referral to a specific job or you can submit your referral into our candidate database where recruiters can access and review the skills for all current and future openings.

All submittals must be submitted electronically through the employee referral link so that the entry is date/time stamped. We can then identify the initial source of the resume. For example, if John submits a candidate resume on Wednesday and an agency submits the same resume on Wednesday, we can easily identify that John was the initial referring source and he would be eligible for the payout. Once a referral has been submitted into the system by an employee, it is eligible for 12 months from that date.

Payments are not made until your referral has completed 60 days of employment, or the contractual trial period for some locations outside the US. For US locations, the amount will be $1,500; for those based outside the US, payments will be made in local currency. Bonus payments will be subject to applicable taxes and deductions. Both you and the referred candidate must be employed by Biogen Idec at the time the bonus is paid.

If you have not received your payment within two pay periods of your referrals completion of their eligibility period, you may contact the Employee Service Center employeeservicecenter@biogenidec.com or your local HR representative.

Only electronically submitted resumes will be considered eligible for the Employee Referral Program. By giving resumes directly to hiring managers, we are not able to establish the source of a referral resume, and therefore, you will not receive credit for the referral. A resume submitted into the Employee Referral database is date/time stamped which allows us to identify who sent the resume in first. A source could be you, an agency, another employee or the candidate himself. The date/time stamp is used to determine credit for a referral and to qualify Employee Referral status.

Upon successful completion of resume submittal, you will receive an e-mail notification acknowledging receipt to the Employee Referral database.

Employee referral resumes are given priority by our Recruiting Partners. All resumes submitted for a current opening are sent directly to the recruiter's attention. Resumes will be reviewed promptly; however, the Recruiting Partner is not able to provide information about a candidate's interview status in order to maintain confidentiality. Due to the high volume of resumes we receive, it is not always possible for the Recruiting Partner to inform your referral of their appropriateness for a particular position.
